How to Add Your Digital ID to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet

  • 7 min read

A digital ID is only helpful if you can pull it up quickly when you need it. If Sunny Shores has emailed you a link to add your user ID to your phone, the setup usually takes just a few minutes. The key is choosing the right wallet for your device and making sure Apple Wallet or Google Wallet is ready before you tap the link.

Sunny Shores will send the digital ID link by email. If you do not see it in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder. The email will include two options:

Android phone (google)

iPhone (apple)

Tap the option to add your user ID to Google Wallet.

Tap the option to add your user ID to Apple Wallet.

Once added, your digital ID should appear inside your phone’s wallet app, alongside other passes, cards, and tickets. For easy backup access, Sunny Shores also suggests taking a screenshot of your ID after it has been added.

Your digital ID is easiest to use when it is saved directly to your phone.

The only other option to look up your account is by phone number.

Start with the Sunny Shores email

The digital ID setup begins with the email from Sunny Shores. Open the email on the phone where you want to save the ID. This matters because the link is designed to connect directly to the wallet app on that device.

If you open the email on a desktop computer, tablet, or someone else’s phone, the wallet link may not work as expected.

Before tapping anything, check these basics:

  • Your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data.

  • Your device software is reasonably up to date.

  • You can access the email from your phone.

  • You know whether your device uses Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

  • Your wallet app is installed and signed in.

If you use an Android phone, choose the Google Wallet option. If you use an iPhone, choose the Apple Wallet option.

Do not tap both options. Pick the one that matches your phone. If that one doesn't work then you can try the other, apple users have had success with google wallet believe it or not!

Add your digital ID to Google Wallet on Android

Google Wallet is the wallet app used on most Android phones. Some Android devices already have it installed. Others require you to download it from the Google Play Store first.

1. Check that Google Wallet is installed

Look for the Google Wallet app on your phone. If you do not see it, open the Google Play Store, search for Google Wallet, and install it.

Once installed, open the app and allow any permissions it requests. These permissions help the app save and display wallet items correctly.

2. Sign in to Google Wallet

Open Google Wallet and sign in with your Google account. If prompted, tap View Wallet to reach the main wallet screen.

If you are not signed in, the Sunny Shores link may fail or may keep asking you to open or install the app. Signing in first can prevent that loop.

3. Open the Sunny Shores email on your Android phone

Go back to your email app and open the message from Sunny Shores. If you cannot find it, search your inbox for “Sunny Shores” and check your spam or junk folder.

Tap the option that says to add your user ID to Google Wallet.

4. Follow the prompts

Your phone should open Google Wallet and show a prompt to save the digital ID. Review what appears on screen, then tap the button to add or save it.

When the process is complete, open Google Wallet and look for your Sunny Shores digital ID. It may appear with your other passes or IDs, depending on your phone and app version.

Add your digital ID to Apple Wallet on iPhone

Apple Wallet is built into iPhone. In most cases, you do not need to download anything before adding your Sunny Shores user ID.

1. Find the Wallet app

Open the Wallet app on your iPhone. If you do not see it on your Home Screen, swipe down and search for “Wallet.”

Make sure your iPhone is connected to the internet before using the Sunny Shores link.

2. Open the Sunny Shores email on your iPhone

Open the email from Sunny Shores on the same iPhone where you want the ID saved. If it is missing, check spam or junk mail.

Tap the option that says to add your user ID to Apple Wallet.

3. Add the ID when prompted

Your iPhone should open Apple Wallet and show a preview of the digital ID. Tap the on-screen option to add it.

After the ID is added, open Apple Wallet and confirm that the Sunny Shores ID appears there.

If you have an Apple Watch paired with your iPhone, your phone may ask whether you want to add supported wallet items to your watch as well. Follow the prompts if that option appears.

If your wallet is not set up yet

Some common errors happen because Apple Wallet or Google Wallet has not been fully set up. Your digital ID may not require a payment card, but your wallet app may still need basic setup before it can save passes correctly.

Set up Google Wallet

If Google Wallet is new on your Android phone, complete these steps first:

  1. Open the Google Wallet app.

  2. Grant any requested permissions.

  3. Sign in with your Google account.

  4. Tap View Wallet if prompted.

  5. Confirm that you can see the main wallet screen.

If you also want to add a debit or credit card for tap-to-pay, you can do that inside Google Wallet:

  1. Open Google Wallet.

  2. Tap Add to Wallet in the bottom-right corner.

  3. Select Payment card.

  4. Choose New credit or debit card.

  5. Scan your card with the camera, or tap Enter details manually.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to finish setup.

Google Wallet can also store other items, such as transit passes, loyalty cards, gift cards, and some photo-based cards. To add those, tap Add to Wallet, select the type of item, and follow the prompts.

Check payment setup in Google Wallet

For contactless payments, open Google Wallet and tap your profile icon in the top-right corner. Select Payment setup and look for any required actions.

Items that are complete usually show a blue checkmark. If something is missing, follow the instructions shown in the app.

For tap-to-pay, make sure NFC is turned on. Then unlock your phone and hold the back of the device near a payment terminal for a few seconds. Wait for the confirmation checkmark. Some payments may still require a PIN, signature, or extra verification.

These payment steps are separate from saving your Sunny Shores digital ID, but they can help confirm that Google Wallet is properly set up.

Set up Apple Wallet

Apple Wallet is already included on iPhone, but you may still need to complete basic setup.

To add a debit or credit card for Apple Pay:

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.

  2. Tap the + icon in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Debit or Credit Card.

  4. Tap Continue.

  5. Add your card by holding your iPhone near the card to scan it, or choose Enter Card Details Manually.

  6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

  7. Enter details like the CVV code and expiration date if asked.

  8. Tap Next to let Apple Wallet verify the card with the card issuer.

  9. Complete any extra verification, such as a text message code or bank app confirmation.

Once verified, the card will appear in Apple Wallet and can be used with Apple Pay where accepted.

Again, adding a payment card is not the same as adding your Sunny Shores ID. But if Apple Wallet has never been used on your iPhone, completing the setup can help clear basic wallet issues.

Common problems and how to fix them

Most wallet issues come from opening the wrong link, using the wrong device, or not having the wallet app ready.

The email is missing

Check your spam, junk, promotions, or filtered folders. Search for “Sunny Shores” in your email app. If you use more than one email address, make sure you are checking the address Sunny Shores has on file.

The link opens but nothing happens

Make sure you opened the email on your phone, not a desktop computer. Then confirm that you chose the correct wallet option for your device.

Use Google Wallet for Android. Use Apple Wallet for iPhone.

Google Wallet asks you to install or sign in

Install Google Wallet from the Google Play Store if it is missing. Open the app, grant permissions, and sign in with your Google account. Then go back to the Sunny Shores email and tap the Google Wallet link again.

Apple Wallet does not show the ID

Open the Wallet app manually and check whether the ID was added. If it is not there, return to the Sunny Shores email and tap the Apple Wallet option again.

Also check that your iPhone has internet access and that you are using the iPhone where you want the ID saved.

You tapped the wrong wallet option

If you have an Android phone and tapped Apple Wallet, or an iPhone and tapped Google Wallet, go back to the email and select the correct option.

The two buttons are not interchangeable.

The wallet app shows an error

Close the wallet app and reopen it. Check your internet connection. Restart your phone if needed. Then try the link again from the Sunny Shores email.

If the issue continues, keep the email and any error message available so support can see exactly what happened.

Take a screenshot for quick backup access

After your Sunny Shores digital ID appears in your wallet, take a screenshot and save it somewhere easy to find on your phone.

This gives you a backup if:

  • Your wallet app is slow to open.

  • You have a weak internet connection.

  • You need to show the ID quickly.

  • You are troubleshooting the wallet app.

Treat the screenshot like any other personal ID. Do not post it publicly or send it to anyone who does not need it.

What success looks like

You are finished when your Sunny Shores digital ID appears inside the correct wallet app on your phone.

For Android, that means opening Google Wallet and seeing your Sunny Shores user ID saved there. For iPhone, that means opening Apple Wallet and seeing the ID listed with your wallet items.

If something does not work the first time, check the basics: open the email on your phone, choose the correct wallet option, make sure the wallet app is installed and signed in, and look in spam if the Sunny Shores email is missing. Once the ID is saved, screenshot it for easy access and keep it ready whenever you need it.
